Firefighters were called to the parking lot of the Westwood Community Center for a fire near the building. Arriving units found a 20-by-20-foot area of brush and fencing ablaze, with flames threatening an adjacent apartment building, firefighters said on Facebook.

Engine 1 crews stretched a hand line to knock down the fire, while truck crews conducted overhaul operations and checked the apartment building's roof for potential extension, the department said.

The fire was under control within 10 minutes, with no damage to the apartment building reported. The scene was handed over to the fire official for further investigation.
